Elizabeth A. Soroka
Elizabeth A. Soroka became involved with Epic Rites Press in 2010 when she designed the template for Tree Killer Ink. Out of the fourteen illustrators who submitted templates, Elizabeth was the only one who captured the energy of the magazine perfectly.
Tree Killer Ink
Frostbitten
The first print publication by Epic Rites Press was Frostbitten by Mark Walton, the first entry in the “workers in blood” chapbook series. The book sold phenomenally well, and when the initial printing of two hundred-fifty copies was sold out, Mark, Pablo and I decided to release an extended version, featuring fifty new pages of material with a unique exterior. To maintain the integrity of the original chapbook, the new book was split into two sections: Frostbitten and What The Heart Needs To Heal. When I asked Elizabeth to design two illustrations to act as title pages for each section, she not only delivered the goods, she created something truly special.
Catalogue
Elizabeth has been working in marketing Epic Rites Press, most recently by designing the new ERP catalogue template, as well as brochures that are used in a global marketing to universities, libraries and bookstores.
We’re No Butchers
Two photographs by Elizabeth were used to create the dynamic exterior of Rob
Elizabeth’s artwork provided the monstrous skin that was stretched across the skeleton of Rob Plath’s play, We’re No Butchers.
Her Face, The Sometimes Gentleness
One of the limited edition broadsides issued by Epic Rites Press was Her Face, The Sometimes Gentleness by William Taylor Jr. The poem immediately conjured a haunting image of Elizabeth that I’d remembered from her online portfolio. In showing Elizabeth’s picture to William, he enthusiastically agreed that it was the perfect image to accompany his poem.
Through Elizabeth’s talents, tenacity, and work ethic, Epic Rites Press, as an organization, has grown stronger!
