I have come

like pointing
a finger at a
disease and
saying: look,
there it is!
we need this
more now.
not side shows
or circus acts
of the pen.
but doctors
who are willing
to open the thing up,
cut it out
and show it to you
and say “heal it!”
it is dead
or dying.
